Surfing has long been a male-dominated space, and for too long that has meant too many women standing on the shore, watching from the outside. We know that feeling. We built this retreat because every woman deserves to feel at home in the water.
Set in the heart of Las Flores — Oriente Salvaje — we don’t just teach you to surf. We immerse you in the local surf culture and the community that lives and breathes these waves. Because learning to surf isn’t only about the ocean; it’s about belonging to something bigger.
It’s never too late. The waves have been calling… this is you answering.
Beginner to low-intermediate, late 20s to mid 50s. With a 2:1 coaching ratio we meet you exactly where you are. Not sure where you fit? Here are the five levels we work with.
Never stood on a board. The dream has always been there.
Surfed a few times on vacation. A little rusty; a refresher helps.
Pops up in whitewater. Ready for longer, more consistent rides.
Comfortable in whitewater; ready to take on green waves.
Riding small greens; refining take-off, turns and wave selection.
This retreat is notfor advanced surfers chasing barrels — it’s for women building real, lasting skills and the confidence to paddle out on their own terms.
We know what a bad surf lesson feels like — an instructor shouting from the beach while you figure it out alone. We built the opposite.
A 2:1 coaching ratio, every session. Your instructor is beside you — not catching their own waves — until you pop up and think “wait… I’m actually doing this.”
Daily video coaching tailored to your body and technique, plus guided reflection. You’re not here to keep up with anyone. You’re here to become the surfer you want to be.
Cumbia and bachata with locals, your first pupusas, ocean jewelry made by hand, and surfing alongside a nationally-titled local female champion. You’ll leave a friend of the break.
We never send you into the water without making sure you’re ready — mentally, physically, technically. Comprehensive theory before every session, and someone genuinely in your corner the whole way.
Wherever you’re starting from, this was built for you, exactly as you are. Video feedback on your waves, and reflection sessions that meet the mental side of learning to surf.
Las Flores is a World Surfing Reserve, and its preservation is woven into everything we do — from a local artisan’s jewelry workshop to time with a community nonprofit.
Structured mornings in the water, restorative afternoons, warm evenings together — with built-in downtime so you never burn out.
A beach briefing and sand-drawn theory before every session, then hands-on coaching in the whitewater or small greens.
See yourself on the wave each evening and know exactly what to work on next.
The breakthroughs that happen on the page show up on the wave the next day.
Surf-specific stretch sessions and one recovery massage to keep you moving all week.
Read a forecast, understand breaks and boards — so you can surf confidently anywhere.
Your media, strengths, next steps and board recommendations — so you never start from scratch again.
Pupusas, tamales and horchata; a local seafood buffet to close the week.
An hour of local dance with a Salvadoran instructor — playful, warm, together.
Make earrings and a necklace with a local female artisan — a keepsake from the sea.
A shared session with a local surf initiative for young women, or a beach cleanup.
